Our eldest brother appreciated joy and laughter (often in the form of a good joke). He's such a kind and exceptionally generous person. We have so many happy memories of the family gatherings in San Francisco, Toronto, Quebec, and Alaska. Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with all of us over the years. Brother Allan will forever be remembered by his sister Eva and brother-in-law Sammy.

“One life lived. Many lives touched”
The occasions where we meet for gatherings are my favorite moment. You have the most youthful spirit: when you showed us how you can do a squat. You can drink anything with us, from shots to glasses of wine. We are grateful for your hospitality.
We are blessed to have know you and your family.

Papa Lau, you always brought joy and laughter to those around you. Whenever our families got together, the whole room is always lit with genuine smiles you bring out. You have a heart of gold, an infectious smile, and honest wisdom, all of which influenced the lives of many including myself. You always asked for very little but always gave so much. You’re the most humble, joyous, and bighearted person I know. I am very thankful for have gotten to hear your many great stories, celebrate life with you and your family, and shared a bottle of wine, or two, with you. Thank you for showing us to live fully, love truly, and to cherish each moment unapologetically. Greatly inspired by your wisdom, I constantly remind myself to live my life as worthwhile as yours.
You are forever in our hearts and always a part of our memories.

My loving thoughts to dearest Uncle Allan. Even though we did not see each other from a distance, I heard lots of funny stories from my mom Tammy. You are now entering into a paradise where you are free from sickness and troubles. Blessed that you rest in peace. You will be remembered by us anytime, anywhere. With love from Kingsley (son of Tammy)

Papa Lau is a generous, caring and loving person. Definitely a man who expected nothing, but would often give so much. From his humor and kindness to his thoughtful gifts, he effortlessly won people’s heart. I’ve known Uncle Allan for 7 wonderful years, and I’ve experienced firsthand how he cherishes his family and friends, and workers in service industries. He was a man who not only appreciated all the different cuisines the world has to offer, but also his social environment; he never missed a chance to acknowledge others, he constantly cared for those around him, and always supported his loved ones. I would see him every Saturday and he would always greet me with a joke, and a smile. Those moments would make me feel his warm welcome. On Saturdays we would eat, drink, and laugh, I would thoroughly enjoy his story telling and wits. I remember when my dad tore his rotator cuff, Uncle Allan took time out of his day to accompany me and my dad to his trusted chiropractor. Even after some time, both Uncle Allan and Auntie Theresa would follow up with my dad, making sure he is feeling better. He constantly extended his care beyond measures. Papa Lau, thank you for bringing so much joy and knowledge to my life.
Papa Lau will be greatly missed.

I have had the privilege to take care of Allan for many years at his doctor’s office. Allan, forever a gentleman, was always a joy to see each time, along with his lovely wife, Theresa, who took great care of him. My husband and I had the honor to get to know this special couple by their generous offer to take us out to dinner, a handful of times. And like a few who have mentioned here, Allan in particular always made sure we enjoyed each and every dinner, and not just with food, but with the wisdom that he always imparted on us. He never failed to ask how we are doing each time I saw or spoke with him on the phone. Even when he was not feeling the best, he would put others first. I was very glad to have had an opportunity to see him again recently, on what turned out to be the very last time... Just like the many photos reflected beautifully here, I shall miss his smile and his kind face, and his calming voice. Thank you, Allan, for all the ways that you have blessed and impacted our lives.

You were larger than life, kind and always put your family first. Your family would not have had the amazing opportunities they have today if it wasn’t for your sacrifices. You will never be forgotten.
